Jacklyn Mancilla is a Policy Specialist with the Success Center. She supports the Policy and Research unit efforts in redesigning the student experience for California community college students. She has extensive student counseling experience and has worked with students at the high school, community college, four-year undergraduate, and graduate levels. She specializes in student retention, particularly retention of at-risk to-leave student populations. She teaches college transition courses at the University of Southern California where she earned her Master in Educational Counseling. Currently, she is completing her doctoral dissertation at California State University, Northridge. She is the first in her family to graduate college and pursue a doctoral degree. She is a proud mom and proud Mexican-American woman with pronouns she/her/hers.
