Liz Avila is the Engagement Specialist for the Vision Resource Center. Her goal is to support Chancellor’s Office and Foundation partners in utilizing the Vision Resource Center to support programs and events.
Liz is originally from San Diego County and graduated from CSU San Marcos with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Border Studies, exploring border communities at a local and international level to better understand how she could positively impact the education, public administration, and healthcare system with underserved populations in mind.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Liz worked for a non-profit community clinic in San Diego County for six years in various roles and most recently was deeply involved in ensuring everyone had access to healthcare, health insurance coverage, and preventative services.
In Liz’s free time, she likes to enjoy time with her family, go on a drive with her fiancé on their motorcycle, and explore new places.
