Dr. Lara-Brady is a Guided Pathways Regional Coordinator for the Bay Area and holds a doctorate in Educational Psychology with a minor in Special Education and another one in Statistics and Research Methods from the University of Northern Colorado. Her dissertation focused on a mixed methods approach of factors influencing the academic achievement of Latinx college students, focusing on a strength based approach. She has supported the work of English Language Learners at ETS in Princeton, early learners at WestEd, and high school youth as a Director of a non-profit. However, her passion lies exploring equity issues in higher education, where she has spent most of her career focusing on; particularly as a Dean of Student Equity at City College San Francisco, and supporting the Vision for Success regionally for the Chancellor’s Office. If you want to strike up a conversation with Laura, you can ask her about her next run, the next world cup, or how to raise the main!
